The National Art School offers residencies with two distinguished European institutions, the British School at Rome and La Cité International des Arts, Paris. Annually, the National Art School offers graduates the opportunity to undertake one three month residency at the British School at Rome and four three month residencies at La Cite International des Arts. Both residency programs are an extraordinary opportunity for an artist to develop their practice and studies in a great centre of artistic excellence.

Australian Tapestry Workshop are looking for 3 highly motivated, enthusiastic visual arts or design graduate, with a ‘can-do’ attitude who wish to make a career in tapestry weaving.
This trainee position will provide an opportunity for an enthusiastic novice to be mentored by some of Australian’s leading tapestry weavers in the art of tapestry weaving. The skills of a good production weaver takes many years to develop. We are looking for someone who wishes to be trained in this wonderful collaborative art form in the exciting environment of the Australian Tapestry Workshop.
The Australian Tapestry Workshop is a busy workshop with challenging deadlines. We seek people who can work happily and effectively in a team environment and can work to tight deadlines.
Tapestry weaving skills are not a pre-requisite for these trainee positions.

The New Australian Bookplate Society is pleased to announce its Bookplate Design Award 2016, a competition for students studying art and design in Australian tertiary institutions. Entrants are asked to submit up to 4 separate designs for bookplates using any digital or traditional printmaking technique, including solely typographical. They may also be high quality reproductions of an original executed in pen and ink, watercolour or other drawing or painting medium.There is no entry fee.
